Our in school programs are co-created with the teachers at the school so that the classroom curriculum and schedules match with the lesson plans LMS has created. We cater to the schools needs for timing and block scheduling so programs can last anywhere from 9 weeks (1 quarter) to the entire school year. The program ends with a joint boat launch with all of our schools and programs!

Wooden Skiff Programs
We have provided our wooded skiff program in partnership with local schools for over a decade. In groups of 4-6, students are taught to build a 12′ wooden skiff known as the Bevin’s Skiff. In addition to the basics of woodworking and tool use, we also implement a STEM curriculum throughout the project that is tied into State of SC Educational Standards. At the end of our program, students participate in one of our Annual Boat Launches to test our their boats and celebrate their hard work.
RC Sailboat Programs
In addition to our tried-and-true wooden skiff building programs, we are excited to add another boatbuilding option for the 2024-25 school year. In this semester-long program, students build and learn to sail their very own DF 95 remote controlled sailboat. Many of the same STEM lessons from our wooden boatbuilding programs carry over in this exciting new offering, with the addition of more on-the-water lessons as students learn about wind direction, sailing angles, and some of the basics of sailboat racing!
