Our mission is to inspire the Lowcountry's young people to reach their full potential through boatbuilding and exploring maritime culture.

Established in 2014, the Lowcountry Maritime School is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping educate our youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math using wooden boat construction and other maritime activities as our teaching platform.

We engage our students in the path of learning through hands-on projects that are applicable in the “real world”. In addition to learning essential “hard” skills such has science and arithmetic, our students are also exposed to many “soft” lessons and experiences that help improve their social and emotional strengths including learning to work with others in a team and building the patience and perseverance needed to complete a long term goal!

Please feel free to contact us via email or give us a call if you wish to learn more about our programs or if you are interested in starting a program at a school you care about!

We are excited to partner once again with the Charleston Parks Conservancy to host our 6th Annual Spring Boat Launch in Colonial Lake!  The Boat Launch will take place May 2nd from 10am to 1pm.  Join us as we celebrate the hard work our students have put in building their boats over the course of the 2019-2020 school year.  There will be music, food, vendors, and more!
