The show will be at Battery Gadsden, Ste 20 at I’On and Boathouse National Park
On June 9, 2018, Battery Gadsden Cultural Center will hold a daylong exposition and wooden boat exhibition at the BGCC Grounds and on the NPS Coast Guard station Grounds. The public is invited to enjoy a family multifaceted event from 9 AM until 5 PM that Saturday. The Expo is dedicated to the mission of fostering a love of all things nautical. Our goal is to profile a rich heritage of boat building and the role Sullivan’s Island has played throughout Maritime History. Kids will enjoy crafts and games while parents peruse nautical artifacts, ship models and art in an “on loan” Maritime Museum at the NPS Boathouse. All of our local Low Country Boat Building talents will be seen in an extraordinary “armada” of hand crafted vessels with their creators present to educate and share with us all. A Family Rowboat Build will be conducted live by Lowcountry
Maritime Society. After a successful first year and with continued kind support of sponsors and donors, this event promises to change, grow and remain a family day of fun and education.
